8- felt tired this morning after a long weekend coaching and judging at a CrossFit competition. Once I got warmed up to train though I felt really good.
A. Squat snatch; build to a tough single
40 x 2 x 3
50 x 2 x 2
60 x 3 x 1
70 x 2 x 1
75 x 2 x 1
80 x 2 x 1
84 x 1
87 x 1
90 x 1
92 x 1 PR
(Really happy with the PR, felt like it’s been coming for a while. Felt great on every rep working up and once I hit 87 I felt good to go for a 90+ snatch. When I hit 90 I knew I had 92 in me so I went for it. Still need to work on settling in the bottom position under a heavy snatch/snatch balance I think.)
B. B. Bulgarian ring rows; 8-10×5; rest 2 min
(No problems, elevated feet on a 12″ box, all sets were 10 reps)
Thrusters @ 60kg
Strict weighted pull ups @ 16kg.
(15:19. Paced it steady enough through the whole workout. 3 sets of 5 thrusters and 2 sets of 3 for the 21 reps then 7 x 3 reps on the weighted pull ups with 10-15s breaks. Kept all rest periods short enough after that with sets of 3 thrusters and 2-3 reps on pull ups. Enjoyed it.)
*Played around with handstand walking again after the session. Ended up walking 25 feet, definitely feeling more balanced and controlled.
